Large amounts of unlicensed medications have actually been seized by Department of during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines via the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is crucial that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be harmful.

"These kinds of products being sold, typically online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More importantly, you do not know the impact drugs like this might have on your health."
